Transition from Pre-K to K

  • Kindergarten Registration-The registration process is handled virtually.  The principal’s secretary handles this process. Depending on conditions at the time, incoming students are screened by kindergarten teachers. Parents complete a “Getting to Know Your Child” survey.

  • Kindergarten Orientation Day- Scheduled the week before school starts. Parents and kindergarten students are invited to visit the school and meet their teacher. While they are in the buildings, the principal welcomes parents to our school and introduces the kindergarten staff. They then visit their classrooms and drop off their school supplies for the upcoming school year.  Parents are encouraged to discuss how their child will be coming to and from school.

  • During orientation, after school programs are available to provide information.

  • Data from the kindergarten screening is used to create classes for the upcoming school year.
