Goals
Bristol Township Schools are committed to fostering and promoting family participation in our Title 1 programs. In accomplishing this goal, Millcreek Elementary will encourage parent participation in the development of our district wide parent involvement plan, and in continuing to improve our family involvement activities in accordance with Section 1116 of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Section 1116(b).

Mill Creek will convene an annual meeting, at a convenient time, which all parents and families of participating children shall be invited and encouraged to attend; information will be discussed to inform parents of their school’s participation in Title 1 and to explain the requirements, and the rights for parents to be involved.
*One meeting will be held in May 2026 and another in the early fall of 2025 both for the 2025-2026 school year.

Mill Creek will share descriptions and explanations of the curriculum in use at the school, the forms of academic assessment used to measure student progress, and the achievement levels of the challenging State academic standards.
*At Family night, booths were set up for information and Q and A sessions to inform families about the curriculum. The booths available were Math HMH, Wit and Wisdom for reading, 95% for phonics, social studies and science, as well as how to volunteer. Other booths we had were resources to obtain clearances, how to access i-campus, information about chromebooks. (Send home books/extra information upon request.)

If requested by parents, opportunities for regular meetings to formulate suggestions and to participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to the education of their children, and respond to any suggestions as soon as practicably possible.
*Enhance the awareness and continue to develop the skills of teachers, pupil services personnel, principals, and staff in communicating and working with parents as equal partners in their child’s education. Respond to parents' requests /suggestions as soon as possible.

*Survey both parents to assess areas of strength and identify barriers to parental

* Parents want more data sent home on diagnostic testing as well as weekly/monthly
updates (such as test folders) on what is currently being taught in the classroom and what
they can do at home to support what is being taught in the classroom. Teachers will send
home diagnostic results with report cards each trimester.
*Parents of Mill Creek Elementary School will involve parents and family members in the joint development of the Schoolwide Program Plan. Parents will be encouraged to be active collaborators with teachers and administrators. Parents will be encouraged to volunteer at the school and participate in various school meetings and functions as well as in the annual parent meeting. At the beginning of the school year, parents can attend the Family Engagement Night, and learn how to access the online volunteer forms if they need assistance. Parents of Kindergarten and New Students attend an orientation prior to the first day of school, information is available to parents and students at this time.
*Parents are encouraged to sign up to volunteer and resources are available to obtain clearances.

Shall educate teachers, specialized instructional support personnel, and other staff, with the assistance of parents, in the value and utility of contributions of parents and family members, and in how to reach out to, communicate with, and work with parents and family members as equal partners, implement and coordinate parent programs, and build ties between parents and family members and the school.
*Staff and parents will watch, review, and discuss SPAC.
*Teachers are available to answer questions and go over curriculum at BTSN as well as on Family Nights.
*Teachers will offer information on academic standards during parent meetings/workshops held during the school year.
*We will share information/access with parents for Infinite Campus in order for families to be able to track student grades and progress.
*Share our district website where parents can access the following information:their child’s school, tips for helping meet the state standards, websites for reinforcement of activities.
*Parents will receive assistance through (back to school nights, family engagement nights, websites) on understanding the state academic standards, local standards and ways to work with teachers to improve the achievement of their children.
*Teachers are available to answer questions and go over curriculum at BTSN as well as on Family Night.
*Diagnostic results will be shared with parents three times a year.
*Parents will receive a homework policy from their child’s teacher at BTSN. Parents will be informed via monthly/weekly newsletters of the curriculum that pertains to their child.
*A school-parent compact will be jointly developed with parents and family members. Parents, school staff and students will share responsibility for improved student academic achievement. Parents will be provided real time access to their child’s attendance and academic standing (Infinite Campus), provide technical assistance as needed (secretary, admin building): dissemination of state testing information (SMORES newsletter and on website), trimester report cards, bi-annual conferences (additional conferences as deemed necessary by the teacher or family prior to the end of the school year). Parents will also receive information to obtain clearances to volunteer in classrooms or at school functions as well as suggestions for positive use of extracurricular time. Meaningful Information between school staff and parents will be shared with families in a language that family members can understand.
*During our annual stakeholder meeting in May of 2026, parents will be asked to help develop/revise the Parent Compact. The compact will outline how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share in the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school. This will also be reviewed and if needed revised in the fall of 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year.

Describes how the school provides materials and training to help parents to work with their children to improve their children's achievement, such as literacy training and using technology, as appropriate, to foster parent involvement.
*We will provide parent materials and training to support involvement in their child’s academic achievement. (Send home books upon request.)
*We will offer Parent Forum Meetings to keep parents apprised of district initiatives.
*Teachers, specialized instructional support personnel as well as other staff and parents will receive ongoing professional development to improve collaboration amongst teachers and parents. We will have a family engagement night in the fall to talk to parents about curriculum and technology and provide a chance for parents to ask questions and/or give suggestions to their child’s education. The engagement night will build ties between parents, family members and the school. There will also be other opportunities throughout the school year, such as information sessions at conferences, after-school clubs and activities, information in a variety of ways in the native language as families build on partnerships between parents and teachers.
*Parents will be informed of i-ready and acadience at BTSN.
*Parents would like tutorials on how to use talking points.
*Parents would like support helping their child navigate social media.
*Parents would like information on how to supplement the curriculum at home.

States how the school will, to the extent feasible and appropriate, coordinate, and integrate parent involvement programs and activities with other Federal, State, and local programs including public preschool programs and conduct other activities, that encourage and support parents and family members in more fully participating in the education of their children.
*We will provide resources for building parent understanding of child development, and academic strategies which are designed to support parents as partners in their child’s education.

*Provide outreach and transition plans for incoming kindergarteners and new students and their parents. Including: kindergarten screenings with welcome packets, summer boot camps, and kindergarten orientation. All students will participate in a move up day information session in the spring.
* Parents and students in kindergarten as well as new students will attend an orientation day and meet the faculty and staff as well as special area teachers prior to the first day of school.
*Parents will receive monthly and weekly newsletters and updates on curriculum.

*We will include parents and family members of English Learners. Mill Creek will provide opportunities for the participation of parents and family members who have limited English proficiency. Communication will be made easier through Talking Points and Language Line. Other possible resources include Duo Lingo and Google Translate.
