Mrs. Cannon B210
I have been a teacher in Bristol Township for 23 years. I have my degree in Early Childhood Education from West Chester University and a Master's Degree in elementary education from Holy Family University.
This is my fifth year teaching 4th grade. I have previously taught 3rd and k.

MILLCREEK ELEMENTARY

Fall Conferences will begin on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20th and end TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28th. On all conference days there will be a 12:40 dismissal time. Please make sure your child knows how they will be going home on half days. Lunch will be served one hour earlier so they will be hungry by dinner time! I look forward to meeting with you all to discuss your cutie pie's progress.

READING:
We continue to do 100 book challenge daily in class. Children are to be reading 1-2 steps nightly and filling in their logs as well.
We are currently working on our ACT books and finding answers with text evidence. Our focus is also on nonfiction text structure ( compare/contrast, cause and effect).
We will begin our Native American ARC research lab after Thanksgiving.
This will focus on story elements.
We will also squeeze in the sequel to SPT ( SKYLARK) as well after Thanksgiving.
Your children may be very excited this weekend because the movie, WONDER, comes out in theaters. This is our daily read aloud.

MATH:
In math we took chapter 3 test on multiplying a multi digit number times one number. We will focus on 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication starting Monday. Then we move onto long division. I am really proud of the kids. They worked very hard practicing their facts which greatly supported them for this unit.

Social Studies/Science:
In science we are learning about forms of energy and really focusing on Light and Sound energy. The next science unit will be electric circuits.
In a week or two we will begin chapter 3 in social studies. This will discuss how the Americas were populated and by what groups. We will then move onto the regions of the United States. This is the focus for the remainder of the year.
