Homework---Week of October 23-27, 2017

Teacher’s Notes: **It is “Red Ribbon” Week!  Say “No!” to drugs! Show your support and wear the following on each day:  Monday=Sweats, Tuesday=Crazy socks, Wednesday=Wear orange and your clothes “inside out”, Thursday=Favorite sports team shirt/jersey, and Friday=wear red. ***On Thursday there will be an assembly in the gym for all grades. (Grades K-2 will be from 9:30-10:00).

***Spelling homework increases to two (2) sentences per night!

**Book fair visit in library class this week!

 **Pumpkin contest this week!  Cost=15 paw prints and it must be paid AFTER their “paws” tickets are given to teacher to “pay” for tiger pride shirt. Pumpkins must go home on Friday.

**Picture retake day will be this Friday, October 27, 2017.

**Conferences are coming in November!  There are 5 half days of school on conference days!

**Tuesday, November 7th is Election Day.  The teachers have a teacher workshop and the students do not have school on this day.     **No School on November 10 in honor of Veteran’s Day.  No school on November 23 and 24 for Thanksgiving break.

 ***Study your first grade sight word list! The goal for the end of first grade is to read and spell the first grade sight words!    

**Please encourage 30 minutes of reading each night.  Books can be the100 Book Challenge books they choose in school or any books you may have at home.  Don’t forget IREAD and RAZ-Kids are also great reading options as well!

**Topic/chapter 3 continues this week in math.

Monday:      C

1.   Spelling: Write a good, first grade sentence for each of the following words: _hug and bug_.

2.   Math: worksheet

3.   Reading: Read your 100 book challenge. Write 1    sentence about one of the books you read.

Tuesday:       D
1.   Spelling: Write a good, first grade sentence for each of the following words: _cut and nut_.

2.   Math: worksheet

3.   Reading: Read your 100 book challenge books for 30 minutes.

Wednesday:     E

1.   Spelling: Write a good, first grade sentence for each of the following words: _are and ball_.

2.   Math: worksheet

      3.      Reading: Read your 100 book challenge. Write 1 sentence about one of the books you read.

Thursday:     A

1.   Spelling:  Write ALL of your spelling words 2 times each. Study for your spelling test.

     2.      Math: worksheet

                                        3.      Reading: Read your 100 book challenge books for                                               30 minutes.

Study your word list every night!!

Friday:       B
