Arrival, Dismissal and Breakfast Procedures for Bristol Township Elementary Schools

 

Arrival Procedures


  • School begins at 9:20 a.m. Students arriving after 9:20 will be considered late and Parents/ Guardians must sign students in at the front desk.

  • Students walking or being dropped off should arrive no earlier than 9:10 a.m. unless eating breakfast (see below).  Students will be admitted into classrooms at 9:10 a.m. for the start of school.

  • Parents/Guardians dropping off students should enter the school parking lot from Mill Creek Rd and continue  to drop off at the door that reads “Learning Resource”, then leave by circling the driveway and turning right on Mill Creek Road.

  • Please form a single line, remain in your cars, and drop off at 9:10. All traffic is one-way. We have two child care programs, the YMCA and Kidtime for parents needing an earlier drop off. Call the office for information.

  • Students should exit all vehicles from the passenger side only. Parents/Guardians, please remain in your car. A faculty member will be at the door at 9:10 a.m. to assist the students as they enter the building.

  • At 9:20 a.m.  all doors are closed, please drive up to the Main Entrance, park, and bring your child into school to sign your child or children in.

  • Students who are transported to school by Day Care Vans will be dropped off in the bus loop and enter the doors by the cafeteria. Day Care Vans must not drop students off until 9:05 a.m. when a staff person is assigned to supervise the student’s entry into the building.


                Breakfast Procedures


  • Walkers and car riders who wish to have breakfast should arrive at 9:05 a.m.

  • Bussers will receive breakfast upon their arrival to school.


Dismissal Procedures


  • Dismissal begins at 3:45 p.m. Early excusals must follow the procedures as established in the Parent/Student Handbook. Dismissals after 2:00 p.m. will not be granted unless an emergency situation exists. In case of an emergency, you may need to park at Ben Franklin and walk over to pick up your child as the front parking lot is designated for parents picking up their children

  • Should you need to pick your child up before 2:00 p.m., a note is required, along with proper ID.  We cannot accept phone calls for early dismissals.

  • Students who are walkers are expected to cross with the crossing guard at the designated places.

  • Parents/Guardians picking up students should enter the front parking lot from Mill Creek Rd and continue to the door that reads Learning Resource

  • Cars will be directed to form a line.  Cars will form a single line that winds around the parked cars and students will be loaded into their car when they get to the front of the lines. A cone will be set up to show where the line begins.

  • Please turn off all engines and radios.

  • Students will be walked to their cars.

  • Once all cars are loaded, and the buses have left the area, cars will be directed to leave the lot in a single row and to make a right turn onto Mill Creek Road.  

  • Depending on the number of cars, this process may take up to 30 minutes, so please be patient.

  • Students who are transported by Day Care Vans will leave the K-1 hall and board their vans in the bus loop.

  • Students who are bussed will leave via the back right exit and will be assisted by teachers and staff.

  • Kindergarten, First Grade and designated special needs students must be met at the bus stop by a parent, guardian or responsible older sibling. (Please refer to Parent/Student Handbook for further guidelines.)

  • If your child is not riding the bus on any given day and will be picked up, he/she must give a written note to the classroom teacher, which will be forwarded to the main office.

  • Students may not take a bus other than the bus to which they are assigned. Students who are not bus riders on a daily basis man not ride the bus.  

  • Parents will not be permitted to remove a child from the bus once he/she has boarded the bus
